Lolli's parent-teacher conference

It lasted all of 7 minutes and was nothing but positive :) She's exceeding almost all her goals for the end of the year, which is still a few months away. And is mastering all the social skills. So proud!

Poppy the boy magnet :/

Poppy wore a sweater to the park. When we got to the picnic table she took it off and said, all the boys when they see me are gonna fall in loooooove 'cause I'm so skinny in my tank top and skirt.

I about died. Commence the talk about how yes, she's skinny and yes, she looks nice in her outfit but she better be dressing for herself, not boys, yada yada yada. Sigh.

Lolli's first yellow

My sweet Lolli came downstairs in tears about 30 minutes after bedtime to confess that she got her behavior clip moved down to yellow for the first time today. She feels better after a long talk with me, calling Zach to tell him (she was so scared he'd be furious), and writing an apology to her teacher.

Parenting would be a breeze if only kids would stay this honest and self-punishing through the tween/teen years!

Ozzie's take on the new baby

I just asked Oz if he thinks the baby in my belly is a boy or a girl. He responded with, "Oh, boy!" in the cutest way possible. He has no idea what I'm talking about :)

Poppy the conflict mediator

Yesterday at the playground, Poppy overheard some boys (kindergarten or 1st grade maybe) saying Ozzie was a baby and laughing at him. She came to talk to me about it and emphatically declared that those boys should be ashamed of themselves. I told her not to worry about it because Oz didn't even know what was going on and what others think is their own problem, words can't hurt us, yada yada. A few minutes later I look over and she's over there giving those boys a stern talking to. They apologized for calling him a baby and explained they hadn't been laughing at him but at something else. So once that was cleared up, they all played together.

I don't know where this child came from but I sure learn a lot from her!
