Poppy is super student!

Once upon a time in a far away kingdom called Indianapolis, a princess was born into the royal family. She was a big baby (9lbs 15oz!), born at home in the caul, and the king and queen named her Penelope. Because Penelope is an awfully big name for such a young girl, she went by Poppy – also the name of a beautiful flower. Poppy was a very outgoing child, speaking in paragraphs before her 2nd birthday. She idolized her older sister, princess Lolli, and they had many adventures together including taking tumbling and ballet lessons and playing softball together. The king and queen added two princes to the family, Ozzie and Augie. Poppy was a great older sister, always having the patience and desire to do whatever it took to teach her brothers new things. Eventually Poppy began to tire of being a princess; she wanted to just be an average kid like all her friends. And so, at her request, her parents gave up their titles as King and Queen and moved their family away from the Kingdom of Indianapolis to a tiny village called New Palestine. There Poppy and her family lived a perfectly average and joyful life as commoners amongst the other New Palestinians. Poppy loved school, dance class, and singing karaoke at home with her siblings. She also enjoyed riding her bike, creating artwork, and spending time with her family….so, as the story goes, they lived happily ever after. I know a young girl named Penelope Lynn. On a scale starting with zero, she’s a perfect 10! She was born at home, weighing 9 pounds, 15 ounces. A girly girl from the start, she likes to wear stuff that flounces. In dance class she does jazz, ballet, and tap. Her favorite place to sit is in her mom or dad’s lap. Poppy’s silly and clever, and quick to make a friend. She’s helpful and kind, and loyal to the end. She adores her 3 siblings, Lolli, Ozzie & Augie. She loves her cat Bolton and Dexter, her doggie. She can be upbeat and hyper, or chilled out and mellow. A good girl all around – that’s Poppy Pucillo!

Happy birthday, Mr. Augustus!

Augie is 1!!! He's over 23 pounds and at least 30 inches (he has his official check up next week). He has platinum blonde hair and amazingly blue eyes. He's delightfully chubby. He has 8 teeth. He still has about 15 ounces of pumped milk a day. He's kinda of starting to drink some cow milk. He eats a TON of food. His favorite things are watermelon and blueberries but he'll eat almost anything. He takes one nap a day for around 1.5-2.5 hours. He goes to bed between 7 and 8 and gets up between 6 and 7 (and several times in between ha ha). He sleeps in a crib in the bedroom he shares with Ozzie. Sometimes he still uses his baby swing if he's having a really hard time chilling out for bed. He's walking! He still crawls some, too, but he's very deliberate in practicing his walking and he's improving every day. He started crawling at 9 months but didn't cruise until after he hit 11 months, so we weren't sure if he'd be walking by his birthday or not - but he was :) He's so funny because he was able to stand himself up without holding onto anything for a month or so before he even started cruising. He would do squats and work on his balance all the time! He doesn't speak yet but he signs "hello", "bye bye", "milk", "more", "all done", "eat", "drink", and "ball". He's starting to learn new ones almost daily! He has a great sense of humor and loooooves his big siblings and imitates them often. Taking baths is one of his favorite things. He loves being outside and is still perfectly content to ride in his stroller on walks. On his birthday, he had a cinnamon roll with a candle in it for breakfast! Then he hung out with his buddy Harper and Ozzie and his buddy Harrison. They went to the park and Augie got to do one of his favorite things - swing! He had a family birthday party with a football cake the next day. He got a giant stuffed giraffe, a talking stuffed dog, a train with tracks, a tool box, a dump truck and a suitcase. Plus $ for his savings account. What a lucky kid! He's such a joy to have around!!!

Happy 8th birthday Lolli!

Lolli is 8! She has lost (and grown in) 8 teeth. Her hair is blonde but getting darker each year. She celebrated the day with donuts for breakfast and wearing a birthday girl ribbon to school. Lauren went and ate lunch with her and dropped off cookie cakes and juice pouches for her to share with her class. They said her name on the announcements and she got a couple birthday pencils! After school she chose steak and mashed potatoes for dinner - yum! Then she requested a trip to the apple orchard so they went to Tuttles where they picked apples and had slushies. Lolli even got hers for free! Then they watched Teen Beach Movie 2 and had cake (one of which Ozzie DROPPED on the GROUND! - but that's another story ha ha). She had a great birthday! Her gifts included that movie, a Kids Bop CD, some earrings, an iTunes gift card, a spirograph, a battery-operated fish, a microscope, Shopkins stuff, etc.

Lolli P, soccer extraordinaire!

Lolli is playing her 2nd season of soccer at NP United this fall. She's once again being coached by the world's greatest - her dad :) Her team is the U8 Dolphins. None of the girls on her team go to her school but she's made some friends. They split the team up on game day between a non-aggressive game and an aggressive game. Lolli has been doing great at playing the first half on the non-aggressive side and the 2nd half on the aggressive side. She's scored several goals and is really getting good at playing sweeper!

Poppy the dancer!

Poppy is now enrolled in Elementary Dance 1 at Wilkinson Dance Studio in Greenfield - the same place Lauren took lessons as a child. She goes from 4:15-5:45 on Mondays and is learning tap, ballet, and jazz. Can't wait to see her dance on stage!

Birthday Bash!

Lolli and Poppy decided to have an epic sleepover for their birthdays this year. So they each invited 3 friends to come over after school (many rode the bus home). Their guests were: Paige, Molly, Payton, Savannah, Elli and Abigail. After school they all changed into the neon-painted white t-shirts that Lauren had made them and went over to That Fun Place for black light mini golf, laser tag, arcade games and pizza. After that they came back to the Pucillo house and went swimming. They had ice cream cake at the pool, then came home to decorate their party room upstairs. Once it got dark they roasted s'mores outside and played with all sorts of glow things. They they turned on the disco light and black lights upstairs and had a huge dance party. Finally they watched a couple movies before bed. The next morning they ate donuts and decorated more of their t-shirts. They had a blast! And Lauren and Zach were exhausted ha ha

Holiday World!

Gma & Gpa Morgan invited Lolli, Poppy and Ozzie to go camping with them at Holiday World with Paige and Troy, and Zach and Lauren got to go along, too! Augie (who just started crawling!) stayed home with Gma and Gpa Great. They camped at Lake Rudolph which is within walking distance of Holiday World which was super convenient. The Pucillo 5 camped in a tent and the other 4 stayed in their camper. Zach and Lauren took their kids to HW on their won the first day because they knew one day wouldn't be enough to cram it all in. The kids enjoyed the small kid rides. Ozzie and Poppy really liked the Scrambler. Lauren got to take Lolli on her first real roller coaster - The Raven! She was so brave!!! Ozzie is obsessed with the Holidog kiddie coaster and Poppy's favorite was the log ride (which Ozzie was too scared to ever ride). Later that night Zach and Lauren got to go back and ride the Thunderbird so awesome!!! The next day they all went back and had fun riding all the kids stuff. Zach and Lauren got to do the Thunderbird again with Bill & Theresa so that was extra fun. The kids liked the white water rapids ride. They spent the middle part of the day at the water park. Zach and Lauren took Lolli & Paige on The Mammoth, a huuuge water coaster. It was exhilerrating ha ha Ozzie loved the kiddie slides a little too much. Back at the campground they ate dinner and watched fireworks. The next day Z and L took the kids paddle boating on the lake and to mine for gems. Augie did great without his mom and dad for 2 whole nights. What a fun trip!

Happy 6th birthday, Poppy!

Poppy is 6! She is 45.5 inches tall and weighs 46.4 pounds. Her hair is getting closer to brown each year but still has some blonde streaks left. She's not yet lost a tooth but a couple are getting slightly wiggly. She got clothes and accessories for her (knock off) American Girl doll. She got a Kids Bop CD and tap shoes and an outfit and a karaoke machine. She requested Orange Leaf so they all went there before bed - yum!

Happy 3rd birthday, Ozzie!

Ozzie is 3! He is 37.25 inches and weighs 33.2 pounds. His hair is still super blonde on top but getting darker underneath. He's kind of potty trained but still pees at night. He gave up his pacifier to the pacifier fairy! She brought him flippers that he looooves. He is finishing up his 1st year of preschool. He sleeps in a real bed, either a bunk bed or a queen bed, depending on which bedroom he chooses each night. On his birthday he got to go to school and eat lunch with his big sisters. He had a birthday party with a bounce house and even invited some friends! He had a Big Hero 6 cake. It rained during his party so then the kids got to get all wet on the bounce house which they thought was great.

Soccer times 3!

Lolli, Poppy, & Ozzie are all 3 playing soccer this spring in the Greenfield rec league. They're all 3 on different teams (and Zach is coaching Lolli's), which makes scheduling interesting, to say the least! Lolli and Poppy both really love it and it's whipping them into shape. Ozzie was more excited about it at the beginning of the season... he's losing interest as the season progresses ha ha

Augie's 6 months old!

He weighs 17lbs 5oz and is 26.5in long. He hasn't really started solids yet. He can hold his own bottle of pumped milk but he also still nurses from the boob. Such a versatile guy! He can sit up for a while but still topples over. He hates tummy time. He sleeps in a woombie with his arms out on his back in his mini crib in the guest room. He likes to get up at every odd hour. He usually sleeps til 7 or 8 now, though - hooray for no more 4am wake up times! He's getting more hair but it's see-through so he looks pretty bald. His tickle spot is on his chunky thighs. His older siblings love him like crazy and he loves them! He's very tolerant of their constant manhandling. His favorite thing to chew on are his feet :) He has 2 bottom teeth that are very sharp. He gets a kick out of shaking his head no. He loves peek a boo and being surprised.

Dentist

The kids went to the dentist this morning. Mom goofed up and took them a day early - their appt was actually for tomorrow! But they were able to squeeze them in - so lucky!

The staff couldn't resist Augie and the dentist even said that my three kids are the best behaved ones he has out of all of his clients. He said if any of our friends have similarly behaved children to please refer them to him because they make his day ha ha

And they all got A's for their brushing! A few of Poppys teeth were declared slightly wiggly so she was thrilled. Lolli's 6 year molars are all the way in. Ozzie's stil working on his 2 year ones. The tooth he messed up in the couch jumping disaster is stable again and only slightly discolored so all is well!

Tooth Number 6!

lolli twisted out her 2nd top front tooth last night! She's already lost 4 on bottom so now she's up to 6! The tooth fairy brought her $3 :)
